Despite many, many amazing reviews and accolades from many amazing customers over the last two and a half years, we have come to the conclusion that we are simply not generating enough business to keep Enoteca going.
The post-mortem on the why and how of it all will take some time, but Enoteca has gone to the great kitchen in the sky. As of 1st August we are permanently closed.
I want to thank all of our staff, past and present, who worked so hard and so diligently, and who bought into the idea that a first-time restaurant owner could do something awesome in Southampton. I honestly believe we did that.
To our incredible customers who came back again and again. Thank you for your support, encouragement, advice, feedback and friendship. I cannot adequately express how much that meant to me.
My family have been and remain both the inspiration to push harder and execute better as well as the comfort I needed when times were difficult and the pernicious voice of self-doubt was all I could hear. Thank you to Laura, Alex and Ellie. I love you guys.
And to everyone else who somehow touched Enoteca. We couldn't have had this never-to-be-forgotten ride without you. I could not have grown as a person, learnt so much about myself and the industry, without each and every one of you. I thank you, too.
So let's just say adieu for now. I leave this chapter of my life behind knowing it was all worth it. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next, knowing the people, the experience and the love and best wishes from everyone will carry me on.
